About the lab
Built in the field, not in a boardroom.
Third West Labs is an independent software studio. Rather than chase a broad catalog, we build a small number of products and give each one the attention it deserves. Every product starts as a tool we needed for real client work — and only ships once we'd stake our own reputation on it.
The lab was founded by Jack West, owner of West Computers, a cybersecurity-focused managed services provider in Laurel, Mississippi. Cairnpoint began as the assessment process his team ran for its own clients; Third West Labs exists to turn tools like it into products any MSP can use.
Cairnpoint is the flagship, but not the only thing on the bench. Smaller tools — operational dashboards and focused one-off utilities for service providers — will ship under the Third West name as they're ready.
